Why do we call God Our Father? Because good human fathers are an example of God in Heaven. Good fathers provide for their family, make the rules of the house, enforces judgment on the family. He protects his children from harm, feeds them, aids them when they get in trouble. All without asking for a payment. All they want is to be loved back. It is love in it's truest form, selfless. Toiling for the sake of others.
He toils at work all day providing a home. Comes home after 8 or more hours exhausted, but still has to cut the lawn, trim the bushes, paint the house, fix what is broken, and spend time with family. If he is lucky, he finds a minute to sit in his favorite chair, only to fall asleep trying to read the paper.
Feminists call us lazy, complain they have husbands who do not do enough for them and the ideas of what needs to be done first. 90% of husbands do not work the job they love, they work horrible jobs because it feeds the family. Hard, practical jobs that keep you safe. This is why we honor Father's day. You do not honor it by buying a tie for him with the money he earned, but by simply loving him back. Love goes a long way.
